Swahili Refresher Course~ picture update

February 26, 2013
In class with our teacher, Deo.

Our home for 3 weeks at River Valley Campsite..
Hiking at the nearby "makorongo."
Some fellow students at language school, Valentine's Day. :-)

On the way back from our Swahili refresher course, Beth and I did a bit of sightseeing.

We spent a day in Ruaha National Park:

We didn't see any lions, but we did see four cheetahs all together!
There were tons of baobab trees.

And then a day at the beach on a little island off the coast of Dar es Salaam.

Relaxing on Mbudya Island. My first time snorkeling over a coral reef!  BREATHTAKING!
So grateful for GREAT friends!

  1. Hello Lisa,
Great photo's! Seeing the photo of Ruaha NP immediately made me think of our time at the Serengeti, which was just fantastic.
I don't know whether you heard from the Brouwers how when we were to leave from Mwanza to Nairobi, the flight was cancelled and we were detoured to Dar es Salaam, however no sight-seeing to see the ocean!!
    God bless,
    Susan

  2. Hi Susan! I love comments, yeah! You're so kind to take the time. It reminds me that I should be doing the same for others. Sorry you didn't have time to swim when you were in Dar. Did you get to see any of Dar or just the airport? The kids love the "Jesus Loves Me" song with the Australian version. Yesterday at the school they reminded me that they wanted to sing it so they could hop! :-)
